So I sent this text as I was sobering up:
"ok...I fucking love you. i hate telling you this way, but i do. are you happy now? i fucking love you. why aren't you awake? argh."
I don't fall for people easily, but yet again another latino falls into my lap. It's like the gods are taunting me. This one seems to actually have a functioning logical circuit, has all his marbles in place, and makes me melt.
He called me back and told me he had been waiting until we saw each other again, but that he loved me too.
I really do love him. Now if I can just solve the 2000 mile gap problem...

Magnetic Fields is coming to Paramount Theatre in Austin on October 14th. Tickets go on sale July 23rd. Anyone want to go with me?
I don't normally go to live performances, but I haven't ever seen Stephin Merritt live and he's one of my favorite artists. Has anyone seen a live performance like this at the Paramount? Do people stand the entire time or do people stay seated?
I'm hoping that he doesn't do too much from Distortion, as it wasn't my favorite album of his, and that we get some classics. Also would be cool if some 6ths songs were mixed in. For those of you not familiar with him, he's considered lo-fi synth-pop material. He's very good at writing catchy songs about love found or love lost (When You Were My Baby, 100,000 Fireflies, Noone Will Ever Love You, Falling Out of Love With You). His other projects/bands include The 6ths, The Gothic Archies, and Future Bible Heroes.
Let me know if you want to join me.

Mauricio and I went to an awesome Brazilian steak house called Estancia Churrascaria. You get a salad bar, and then when you are ready for some meat, you flip a card on your table over and the waitstaff bring over slabs of meat for you to snack off of. The meal was $35/person, which was pretty reasonable considering it's all you can eat. Plus the quality was excellent. Best cooked meat I have had in a while.
